At the recent Designers Block in the southbank center in London I came across this jewelry by Young Yu Do.
Compostable Accessories are made from organic materials that can easily be composted at home alongside your teabags, potato peelings and eggshells (unlike a lot of new compostable materials that can only be broken down in an industrial composting facility).

Each piece is made from a carefully balanced mix of ‘green’ and ‘brown’ materials to make sure the best level of compostability is achieved.

The great thing about this jewellery is that your accessories can change with each fashion season but when you no longer want them hanging around your neck they wont just sit about gathering dust on your dresser, they can be chucked in the compost bin and used to grow flowers.

A brilliant mix of fantastic fashion and sustainable design.
The only problem I can see is that they are too pretty to ever want to throw in the compost bin.
