The riverfront in Madison, Indiana, will be rocking August 17 and 18, 2012, for the 11th annual “RibberFest Barbecue & Blues”. This two-day festival along the Ohio River features regional and national blues bands, but here’s what you want to know: there’ll be some of the best BBQ in country.
Some 60 professional barbecue teams will compete in the Indiana State Championship Barbecue Cook-Off for prizes and a chance to represent the Hoosier state at the Kansas City Barbecue Society’s world championship. There’s also a Backyard Blast cooking competition for amateurs and a Kid’s Q for the youngsters.
Two day wristbands are $20 as is Saturday’s gate price. Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday. Children 12 and under are free with a paid adult.
