The Landing Resort & Spa Boasts Stunning Views of Lake Tahoe

Comments Off on The Landing Resort & Spa Boasts Stunning Views of Lake Tahoe

The Landing Resort & Spa is spread out along South Lake Tahoe‘s coast, meaning that most of their 88 guest rooms offer fabulous views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The property is located adjacent to Lakeside Beach and three blocks from the Heavenly Village & Gondola, Village Center, and gaming casinos.  Lakeside Marina offers boat and kayak rentals, as well as water taxi service to other South Shore attractions.

Virtually next door to The Landing, Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course (which has fabulous lunches and dinners with stunning views) offers beautiful fairways on the shores of Lake Tahoe for golf lovers.

The Landing’s rooms are elegant and sophisticated, yet warm and inviting, combining an intriguing blend of contemporary and traditional. Carved woods compliment smooth granite. Woodsman plaids blend with sleek leathers. Chrome and crimson create eye-catching accents.

All guestrooms offer in-room dinning, voice mail, complimentary high-speed internet access and cable/satellite HD TV channels, gas fireplaces, plush terry robes (quite honestly, they’re the plushest robes I’ve ever worn in a 5 star resort and I can assure you I’ve sampled a large number), in-room fridges and Kuerig coffee makers.

Below is a sample of a three bedroom suite (sectioned off bedroom with fireplace) and the massive and ever so elegant bathroom.

All of the bathrooms give the allure of luxury and what’s not to love? Their marble bathrooms include heated floors and heated toilet seats, which are much more than a quirky add-on to a room stay. I couldn’t wait to go into the bathroom to feel the warmth under my feet and yes, my but, each and every time.  A NICE added touch!

We had a superior lakeside room. Below is a sample of one of the superior lakeside rooms with a slightly different layout from our room, however the bathroom and balcony was almost identical.

Our room style is previewed below – I preferred this style over the room style above, although you’ll see from these images how the views make their way into nearly every room, so it’s hard to go wrong.

Here’s a wider view of the bathroom, which includes a jacuzzi bathtub with jets.

If you want (or need) the extra room, go for the premium lakeside suite which separates the seating area a bit more from the bedroom – both have fireplaces and balconies with great views of the lake.

Below is an example of one of the balconies – all of them are fairly spacious especially on the ground floor. Note that there are some which are covered and some which aren’t – both have their merits but know that you have a choice depending on where you are in the property.

Other things worth noting is the glass-enclosed wine cellar which features 250 labels from around the world, a backlit, onyx-walled bar and lounge, the outdoor pool and hot tub (which we spent time in and it was only April, but warm enough to take advantage of both), a sauna and steam room, a fitness center and complimentary “town cruises” bikes in season. This property is most definitely a family friendly resort and the space and amenities support the claim. Children 17 and under actually stay for free up to maximum occupancy.

The Landing also has an elegant upscale spa on the property, which is on the main floor, a stone’s throw from their steam room, a sauna and small gym, but one which faces the lake. Their signature treatments utilize organic products and natural botanicals.  Each treatment concludes with a selection of detoxifying teas offered in the Sanctuary or the inviting pool area.

Below is a shot I took inside the lobby bathroom on my iPhone on the morning we checked out. I absolutely fell in love with the decor, so much so that I had to take a quick shot before leaving the property. Two words to describe it: Elegant and Tasteful!

They’ll store your skis for you on-site and they offer complimentary transportation to the Heavenly Village, Edgewood Tahoe, and the South Tahoe casinos as well as to the ski resort. We were dropped off a stone’s throw from the main shop where we picked up our rentals and the gondola was another few steps away — it couldn’t have been easier.  Regularly scheduled shuttle service is also available to/from Reno-Tahoe International Airport via the South Tahoe Express if you fly in.
