For Foodies Calendar: Aspen’s Food and Wine Classic in Mid-July

Comments Off on For Foodies Calendar: Aspen’s Food and Wine Classic in Mid-July

At the Food and Wine Classic in Aspen Colorado in mid-July, the world’s most incredible chefs demo their best new recipes, and wine experts conduct fascinating wine tasting. It’s hard to score tickets unless you’re connected to folks or book well in advance.

Events include the Grand Tasting Pavilion at Wagner Park to hotels such as Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star The Little Nell and Four-Star The St. Regis Aspen Resort. Top-tier chefs, including Forbes Travel Guide Tastemakers Thomas Keller, Eric Ripert and Ming Tsai, join well-known wine experts, such as Andrea Robinson, Josh Wesson and Tastemaker John Ragan, for a weekend of cooking demonstrations, wine seminars and panel discussions.

There’s a Celebrity Chef 5K Charity Run where you can run with celebrity chefs throughout the town of Aspen.  If you’re a serious foodie and randomly follow celebrity chefs, there’s also the 25th Anniversary Food & Wine Best New Chefs Party which is held at the Sundeck at the top of Aspen Mountain. Former Best New Chefs—John Besh of August in New Orleans and David Chang of Momofuku—will prepare the night’s cuisine.

There are also Reserve Tastings, which are available for both pass holders and non-pass holders – six in total, all of them having a different unique theme.  The Reserve Tastings will feature rare wines and will be hosted by expert winemakers and sommeliers. There are also classes you can go to — 80 events in total, which span far and wide, ranging from wine tastings to cooking demos and everything in between.
